Carter Bush (born January 31, 1996) is an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Liberty of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for Baylor University (BAY) before being drafted by the Baltimore Hawks in the 2021 ISFL Draft (S6). Prior to this, he had been drafted by the San Antonio Marshals in the 2020 DSFL Draft (S5).


Early years

Bush was born to Randall Bush and Tina Bush. Randall was a history teacher at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, NJ. Tina was a track star in high school, but eventually took on a secretarial job at Camden Catholic High School, where she met Randall.



College career

"Bush played college football for Baylor University. During his freshman year, under head coach Art Briles, he was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team at running back, starting in 11 games. He accounted for 12 touchdowns as a freshman -- four rushing and eight receiving.

In his sophmore season, he continued to play running back, but excelled on the field as a pass catcher. Bush also had a significant role on special teams returng kicks and puts. He scored 18 touchdowns -- five rushing and 13 receiving during his sophmore season. After his sophmore season, Bush declared for the DSFL draft.

While at Baylor, Bush majored in Public Relations and Marketing."

"Bush was drafted in the third round (10th overall) of the S5 DSFL draft by the San Antonio Marshals. In 2020 (S5), Bush finished fourth in the DSFL with 808 rushing yards. Bush was also able to score three rushing touchdowns which tied for the lead on the Marshals.

In 2021 (S6), Carter Bush stayed with the Marshals. Bush finished S6 with 689 yards and 2 touchdowns, in a steep drop-off from his previous season with the team. Bush's season was highlighted by a 155 yard performance in the DSFL semi-finals, as he led the Marshals to a 31-11 victory and an appearance in the Ultimini Chapmionship game. While Bush did not light up the stat sheet in the final game, the Marshals still won the DSFL Ultimini Championship. During S6, the NSFL rights to Carter Bush were traded from the Baltimore Hawks to the Philadelphia Liberty in exchange for a 2023 ISFL Draft (S8) 3rd round pick which the Hawks used to select RB - Seth Wallace."

NSFL S6 Draft Combine

"Bush was called up by the Philadelphia Liberty at the start of S7. Bush mainly played in a backup capactiy to running back Damien Kroetch. Bush finished his rookie season with 330 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Bush also added 215 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns to his state line. Bush was a minor roleplayer throughout the season and the playoffs, but was a key piece in the Philadelphia Liberty's S7 NSFL Championship season.

In S8, Carter Bush would loudly introduce himself to the NSFL stage. The Liberty began utilzing Bush more as a pass catcher, and while he still set a career high in rushing with 386 yards, he truly shined as a receiver. Bush ended up leading the NSFL in receptions with 97. He ended with 1,163 receiving yards, which was best for 9th in the NSFL. Bush ended up with a total of 1549 scrimmage yards, which lead all NSFC players. He combined for 10 touchdowns between rushing and receiving. After the season, Bush was awarded as the Breakout Player of the Year for 2023 (S8). He was also awarded Best Performace of the Season for his Week 10 performance versus the Baltimore Hawks where he compiuled 203 yards from scrimmage and 1 touchdown. "
