Brach Thomaslacher was born and rasied in Pasco, Washington to Steven and Lavoyda Thomaslacher. Even at a young age Brach's parents could tell that football was going to play a huge role in Brach's life. His father would tell of stories of how Brach would spend hours playing outside as a young kid trying to tackle full grown trees. He also had a love for the game. Every week Brach would sit down and watch football with his father. There was a fire inside of him that drove him to learn everything he could possible learn about the game. That fire coupled with shear toughness and determination led him to make varsity in his first Freshmen season at Pasco High School.

"At the age of 10 Goat Tank's family moved. Nothing really far away, the same away. Dick Tank had purchased his own farm and put Goat to work. Goat would help with the livestock and hay bales and do a lot of work to help out which helped make Goat pretty strong. It also helped that he was a taller kid than most, too. He was pretty big for his age. However, he was a gentle giant. Growing up as a black kid with a black family in the middle of no where predominately white Iowa, he was taught to not make trouble out of fear of what could happen.
Through his 4 years of playing he amassed 1,012 career tackles, 113 sacks, and 17 interceptions while wearing the number 54. A staggering statistical total that caught the eyes of college scouts all over the country. Opening recruitment letters became a normal occurence for Brach who was widely regarded as an ESPN top 100 recruit. With the whole country watching Brach finally committed his playing career to the Texas Tech University Aggies.

In middle school he was asked to try out for the junior high football team. He ended up not because he was afraid of hitting other kids, even though it was allowed. He never told his dad that he was interested in football even though his dad would always listen to the Iowa games on the radio out on the tractor every Saturday. Goat would listen in as well, pretending to be playing.

Freshman year he was approached again to play and e declined. The coach knew though that Goat Tank's size and strength would be a huge asset to the team and talked to Dick Tank about his son. Dick talked to Goat and it was at that point that Goat admitted he would love to play football. His father was so excited and encouraged him to try out for the sport. Goat did and was immediately mocked by the other kids. They knew him as the gentle giant and run at him thinking he wouldn't do anything to them.

After accepting an offer from Texas Tech University Brach was on his way to the big time. He figured, he would play maybe 2 or 3 years max before he declared for the DSFL draft. However, what Brach did not expect to find in his years of college football was his passion for being a team player. In High School Brach was worried about one thing, getting the tackle no matter what. College showed Brach that there was more to the game than just being a hard-hitting sack machine. Over the years, Brach grew and developed into more than just a Linebacker, he became a leader. He fell in love with the team and his number one concern was not about himself, but about the team. Over his 4 years playing for Texas Tech he amassed 561 career tackles which shattered Luke Kuechly’s previous record of 532. His time at Texas Tech showed everyone that there was something special about his abilities and that he was ready for the next step. The next step came in the form of a waiver pick up by the Kansas City Coyotes in Season 22 of the DSFL.
