Austin Brehio (born July 14, 1997) is an American football runningback for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Elon University (EU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Born in New Hampshire, not exactly known for being a Football mecca, Austin still knew that he always wanted to play football. Things did not get any easier when he stopped growing at a measly 5'7. Austin knew that he woul dhave to work harder than the more athletically and genetically gifted kids but knew that he could do it if he put his mind to it. Austin dedicated himself to the sport and ended up being an All State Athlete from his sophomore year through his senior year and was able to get offers from a few D1 Schools. These schools were not the big names like Clemson or Alabama, these schools would never look at a running back with his stature. However a scholarship offer from a D1 school wsa good enough for him and he was set to go. Austin left his hometown in New Hampshire to travel down south to North Carolina to play football.

College career

Austin accepted the offer from Elon University, a D1 College playing in the very poor CAA conference. When he arrived his freshman year the team was coming off an 0-16 season. He earned a role as the backup his true freshman season and was able to be pretty productie with his touches, solidifying himself as the go-to 3rd down option by the end of the season. Austin become the full-blown starting running back his Junior season, and the team ended with an 8-8 record, greatly improving from his freshman season. He averaged 4.3YPC and 7.3 Receptions per game. Austin was primed for a big senior season at Elon and hoped to challenge for the divison chamionship but that all came crashing down when he tore his ACL in a preseason game. After this injury Austin decided to declare for the NFL Draft where he is awaiting the results and hoping people remember how he was before the injury.
