| − | Akil Ozymandias was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Horatio and Zahra Ozymandias.He has a younger brother, Dante. His parents are both immigrants from Egypt, left their homeland for educational opportunities for their two sons. Father Horatio Ozymandias is a physicist at Rutgers University. Mother Zahra Ozymandias is a triage nurse at Saint Michael's Medical Center. Akil attended East Side High School in Newark, New Jersey where he played wide receiver and offensive tackle for the East Side Red Raiders. Coaches praised him for his knowledge of the game as his family heavily pushed his studies. Through his four year high school career, he had 76 receptions for 1, 214 yards and 12 touchdowns. He committed to play college football for Stanford University his Senior year. During Akil's time at Stanford, he studied mathematics and maintained honor roll status. He elected to stay his senior year of college to complete his bachelor program and earn a mathematics degree. His brother Dante plays basketball for Syracuse University.
