However, he sustained a serious ankle injury in his sophmore year of highschool and took a hiatus of a year to recoopurate. While many thought that he wouldn't be as good, Elliot Berry returned with a bone to pick, amassing 200 rushing yards, 54 reciveing yards, and 2 touch downs. He then had his best senior season after that, and he began to recive many recruiting offers. But, before he went to college, his father passed away. He ran for 30 yards, and got two fumbles. He also dropped several passes. After that, he was benched, playing snaps here and there. In his Sophmore year, he chose to redshirt, giving himself more time to prepare for the next season. When he returned, he didn't get the start, but he did get some snaps, clocking in at 45 rushing yards. He continued to play as second stringer, but then the starting Running Back was injured. Elliot Berry got the start, and this time, while he didn't disapoint, he didn't impress either, rushing for only 63 yards. He played as starter for the rest of the year, bringing in average numbers. Then, in his junior year, he reclaimed the starting position, and he rushed for 125 yards and a TD in the season opener. After that, his season exploded. At the end of the season, he had 1,789 rushing yards, 15 TDs, and 314 reciving yards.
