Early years
Dakota Grossman was born in Louisville, KY to mother Teresa and father Benjamin. His father worked at the Quad lumber mill and his mother was a secretary at the local church. The family relocated to a small town in Georgia when Grossman was young, and he attended Robert Lee High School where he broke the school's interception record and defensive TD record. Grossman also played golf in high school and was thought to have gone pro if he didn't pursue football. After finishing up his senior year in high school, with numerous offers from nearby universities such as Alabama and Georgia, he decided to go home and play for the University of Louisville. Grossman was only the second Robert Lee alumni ever to be a five star recruit. Grossman is still known to be an avid golfer and basketball player in his spare time.
College career
As a true freshman in 2043, Grossman was outstanding, breaking the ACC interception record by 2 [previously was 14]. He was named all-ACC as well as All-Academic, as well as being regarded as the fastest player in the ACC. He was also won of the only defensive players ever to be considered for a heisman, despite not winning it. Despite the possibility of declaring for the draft, Grossman decided to stay another year, as their were questions about his physicality and if that level of play was sustainable. In 2044, Grossman sustained a hamstring injury in training camp. He sat out for the first part of the year and only played 7 games. Despite playing well in those 7 games, with a bit of injury history, many recruiters don't know where to rank him on the board. However, he continues to remain a high to mid round pick in the 2045 draft.
