Early years
Huntsman is the youngest of the three children of Darrow and Kay Huntsman. All 5 members of his family (and ex-K9 german shepherd, Smokey) have experience in the professional wrestling scene. His mother noted that Huntsman was a large baby (10 lb 10 oz) and required a full power bomb during labor. He grew up in Angola, Indiana where he attended Angola High School. At AHS, Huntsman was an all-american OL/DL and carried his small school team to their first sectional championship. He also wrestled all four years of high school and supplemented his mat wrestling with his knowledge and upbringing of professional wrestling. His last two years of high school, he appeared in back-to-back state wrestling championship matches and became Heavy Weight State Champion his senior year. Huntsman received many Division 1 School scholarship offers to play football, but ultimately decided to follow in the Huntsman path of professional wrestling and moved to Moline, Illinois to attend the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy.
College career
Starting his professional-amateur wrestling career, John Huntsman attended Black and Brave Wrestling Academy for three years. Veteran wrestler Hug Nicemann got Huntsman several tryout matches with the Impact Wrestling (WWF) in 2040. Using his real name, he defeated Boom Boom Buster at a house show on March 10 and lost matches to Payne The Destroyer and Puppeteer. After finishing his freshman year at the academy, John Huntsman chose the pseudo name, The Huntsman and went on to win the USMWWA Championship defeating former champion Boulderfist in the summer of 2041. Huntsman credits his unusual quick side movements and strong pushing maneuvers to his success as a defensive lineman in high school. During his time at the academy, Huntsman established his signature move of driving his opponent around the ring and slamming them to the ground as The Pancake. After graduating from Black and Brave Academy, John Huntsman decided to pursue a career change and get back into football by joining the International Simulation Football League.
