Early years
Graham Harper was born in Baltimore Maryland to Mickey and Virginia Harper. Mickey Harper was known as a great speed reciever during his time playing college football. So when Graham first expressed interest in football, naturally Mickey taught him all of the skills of wide reciever. Up until his junior year of highschool he was a competent deep threat, but didn't show any pro-level promise until his coach suggested that he try playing corner instead. He immediately showed much more promise, by the time he was a senior he was a dominant force, he was almost never targeted and when he was he had 13 passes defended and 3 interceptions. Graham has spoken openly that he holds some anger towards his father because he feels that if he was pushed to be a corner sooner, he would have been an even better player than he is now. "My dad messed up, I'd be the number one pick in any draft if I had the time to develop my skills".
College career
Graham Harper started out his college carreer fairly rocky. He did not get much time on the field and when he did get on the field he wasn't making the impact University of Maryland would have wanted. He was responsible for allowing two Touchdowns. However, the moment he hit the field as a sophomore he was back to where he was projected from his senior year of highschool, a great starting corner. He ended up starting most of the season and defending nine passes while getting an interception. He still had rough moments such as when he allowed a touchdown, but his biggest problem by far this year was his penalties. He was penalized 9 times over the course of the season, including a hit on a defensless player that resulted in ejection and multiple taunting penalties. Due to these outbursts he got his nickname ""Firecracker"" in reference to his anger which some have called ""explosive"". He appologized for these offenses just before his junior season, which also saw his penalties go down significantly to a total of just 5. This lowering of penalties coincided with even better play on the field, he became his school's number one corner often being put into single coverage and still seeing what can only be described as dominance. He allowed no touchdowns, defended 10 pass attempts and got two interceptions while being one of the least targeted corners in his conference. He decided to forgo his senior year, instead deciding to enlist in the the 35th draft for the DSFL.

2051 ISFL scouting combine (S36) |
Harper entered the DSFL as the first overall pick to the Norfolk Seawolves. He quickly became CB 1 of what would become a dominant Norfolk defense. He was one of the few in the legendary "legion of doom" for Norfolk this season, which would ultimately help lead Norfolk from the worst DSFL team to the Ultimini champions in just one season. He was a terror on the field but a leader off the field as he was immediately named a team captain upon his arrival. While he was not the most proficient tackler or pass defender in the league, he was close to it, he also did not hold the most interceptions, but he was close to it. Ultimately this combination of elite production let him claim the DSFL cornerback of the year award His results also did not go unnoticed before the ISFL draft where he was drafted first overall to the Colorado Yeti.
