Linz O'Fare was considered academically gifted and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in his hometown. While attending school, O'Fare was able to easily balance both his Academics and love of Football, graduating with a perfect GPA and shattering near every record the school had for defensive football performance. Due to his high performance in both athletics and academics, O'Fare was expected to attend a powerhouse in either an Ivy League school or a perennial college football championship contender on a full ride scholarship. Instead, O'Fare shocked both the media and those around him by choosing to attend the school his father went to, and one of the nearest schools to him, Virginia Tech.
