Antoine Winfield Jr. (born August 16, 1931) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for Minnesota (MIN) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years
Winfield Jr, the son of the NFL player Antoine Winfield grew up in Minnesota. The family moved to the Woodlands in Texas where he attended the local Highschool. He was 2 year starter at the school and additionally was also the kick returner for the team. As a Senior, he managed to get 87 tackles, 5 forced fumbles and one interception. He was named the Montgomery County Player of the year. Winfield Jr was considered a two-star recruit coming out of highschool and accepted a scholarship from Minnesota over offers from several different Universities. All though Minnesota is not the biggest University, Winfield was still very excited and new he would still get a shot at the NFL or ISFL. During Highschool his Dad helped him a lot with improving his feel for the game, his speed and tackling. He played a very big part in why Winfield made it to the NFL and later into the ISFL.
College career
As a true freshman at Minnesota, Winfield Jr, played in 12 games and made nine starts. During his freshman season Winfield Jr. amassed 52 tackles, 1 interception and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. In his second season he played four games before suffering an injury that ended his season right then and there. His final stats were 20 tackles and a sack. In his third season he also played 4 games, recording 17 tackles and an interception. In his fourth season he returned from injuries and managed to be named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. After being named a first-team All American and Big Ten Defensive Back of the year during his final year he decided to declare for the NFL Draft. He thought about delcaring for the ISFL Draft as well but decided against it. As it turns out, Winfield Jr. Decided to declare for the DSFL draft after two successful Seasons in the NFL.
