Douglas Quaid (born December 29, 2013) is an American football linebacker for the Yellowknife Wraiths in the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He formerly played for the Kansas City Coyotes in the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Utah State.
Early years
Quaid didn't start playing organized football until his sophomore year of high school. He picked up the game quickly and started to receive interest from D1 schools during his junior season. His playing time was split between defensive end and linebacker. As a junior it was evident he was a D1 level prospect, he was significantly bigger, stronger, and more athletic than just about everybody on the field. He became the focus of every opposing team's strategy. His go to moves were power rushes against smaller blockers and speed rushes against bigger lineman. He was in the offensive backfield constantly collecting sacks and tackles for loss. During his senior year Granger HS made it to the semifinals of the Utah Football State Championships, but came up short in an overtime loss. As a 3-star recruit Quaid received offers from Utah, BYU, Nevada, and Utah State. He ultimately decided to sign a full ride scholarship with the Utah State Aggies.

College career
As a true freshman Quaid played in a reserve role on defense for the Aggies serving as their 4th LB. He made his mark as a special teams ace as a gunner and blocker. Quaid started two games as a freshman filling in for injured teammates. He was named as the Aggies "Special Teams MVP".
Quaid was named as a full time starter his sophomore season after the Aggies lost two of their starting linebackers to graduation. He settled in as a pass rusher from the outside linebacker spot. His breakout game that endeared him to the fans was a two sack and forced fumble performance against rival BYU.
During his junior season Quaid put himself on the national radar. Scouts took notice of his size, athletic ability, and increased production. He finished the season with 11 sacks and became a player scouts had on their radar. Behind a strong defense Utah State had a 9-3 year and earned a bid to play in the Hawaii Bowl against Fresno State. Quaid had a quiet game with 5 tackles and 1 pass deflection, but Utah State was able to hang onto a 17-13 win.
He decided to return for his senior season. Utah State had most of their starters coming back and was a preseason top 25 team in the polls. It proved to be a great decision as he finished top five in the nation in total sacks and was the winner of the Butkus Award, which is given to the best LB in the nation. Utah State had their most successful season in years going 12-1 and earning a bid to play in the Fiesta Bowl against Arizona. In that game Quaid had 8 tackles and 1 sack helping the Aggies cap off a dream season with a 24-17 victory. Most draft analysts project Quaid to be a 1st or 2nd round pick in the DSFL draft.
