Daniel O'Leary was born to Dermet and Celine O'Leary and grew up in Luton, England. However at the age of 11 they would split with Celine getting the custody, Growing up was difficult for Daniel as he was routinely bullied for his poor family life, however this would lead him to at a young age play the sport of rugby, which gave him a lot of the skills he would need later in life for american football, Daniel attended Griffits Stalt primary school and then moved onto Luton Boys secondary school where he played rugby for both, however he quit it at Luton boy's. he then attended Smithen's colledge which gave him the oppurtunity to go on and attend De Montford University. Growing up it was noted that he had aggresion issues and got frustreated easiliy. As he grew up playing rugby it is sayed that while he excelled at the defensive aspects, his unwillingness to properly play the offensive aspects of the sport led him to stop playing the sport, which would allow him later in life to pick up american football
College career

His second year is where his game really took off, starting all 16 regular season games apart from the first game and taking his team to their first post season appearance in their history, and to the semi-finals of the playoffs where De Montford would lose, he recorded 63 tackles, with 5 being for loss, a forced fumble and recorded 4 sacks over the season. His third and final year is wear he really made an impact, starting all games and making it all the way to the university league final, where with a good performance from Daniel they would go on to win, Daniel recorded 88 tackles, with 14 being for loss and 3 forced fumbles, he also achieved 7 sacks for the season, 3 of which came in the finals. Daniel would finnish his time with the De Montford Devils winning two defensive player of the year awards for his second and third season and setting many school records like tackles for a season. not long after the finals he would be called up to the DSFL draft.
