He continued his entusiasm for Flute playing and played in a Jethro Tull cover band, "Cross-Eyed Mary". Slinky would catch the eye of a school director while performing on stage. Soon his acting career would begin to take off. Appearances in commercials, films, and music videos soon followed. His breakout role came in Friday After Next starring rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube. Having never taken acting classes, instead he asked himself what the audience wanted, and he believes this ultimately brought him success. Growing fond of acting, he was being tormented by his peers. Finally, Slinky would snap and go back to his brutal football past. His Senior year, he would try out for the team at WMU and walk on. Slinky was born in Flint, MI the son of Patricia and Terry. Claxton received a flute from his great aunt, and took lessons for eight years.
