Early years
Pete Moss began his football career after growing on a football field and accidentally tripping up a QB during a game of pickup football. From then on, he knew he was meant to be a football player. He trained and grew, consumed performance enhancing fertilizers, until he was picked up by his local high school football team. There was an international outrage over a non-human playing football, but due to the Air Bud Clause, there's no rules against a moss playing football. However, due to various spores infecting opposing players, he was forced to take on a more human frame. Pete tried playing offense on more than one occasion, but unfortunately the football tends to mess with the delicate ecosystem he has developed within his mossy foliage. Peat Moss ended up being the first high school football player to both record 20 tackles and be a plant, as well as the first to record 10 tackles and be a plant, as well as the first to be a plant, a very prestigious achievement.
College career
After being recruited to Slippery Rock, Pete Moss thrived. Despite not playing his freshman year, he won First team All Plant honors due to there being no other competitors. The first half of his Sophomore year went amazingly, averaging 10 tackles and .6 sacks a game. However, the season was then derailed by a tragic lawnmower incident when the groundskeeper accidentally went over the part of the turf Pete had grown on. He was out for the rest of a season with a broken everything. This came to be a blessing in disguise for his Junior and Senior campaign however, as being mown meant his spores were then spread to the rest of the field, meaning that he quite literally defended every inch of the field every game. From then on, he became a run stopping master, as no runningback could get more than a yard before slipping on the field due to Pete's natural slipperyness.
