Early years
Toledo did not play football until his graduating year at High School. A friend who played rugby told him he would be a great fit, but Marvin didn't like not wearing equipment. He did a try out for a local football team, and a scout happened to be watching. Toledo was picked up and offered a full scholarship with absolutely no talent. During his first and only High school season, he focused more on developing his talents and learning the game of football over trying to be an All-Star on the field. His determination in learning the finer points of the game turned out to be a better investment than keeping up with players who had dedicated years of their life to the sport until this point. His parent's were surprised at how quickly his game was developing and bought him a home gym to further his game and improve his fitness before heading to college
College career
Toledo's first season with Syracuse was underwhelming, putting up dismal numbers in each offensive column, but his amibition and dedication to the game improved every time he stepped onto the field. Toledo wanted to be the best, but knew he had to put in work to accomplish it. During his first offseason, the training staff at Syracuse developed a personalized workout program for him to follow for the next 6 months, when he came back for his sophomore season he had put on almost 15 pounds and was one of the more talented players at the training camp. His statline more than doubled during this season and he was called upon during big moments in games. As his confidence skyrocketed, so did his role within the team, by the end of his second season he was #1 on the depth chart for WR's. The remainder of time at college, he was the king of the Syracuse football team, carrying them 3 bowl games in a row before declaring for the DSFL draft.
