Early years
Marcus Jones was born in Oakland, California in 2023. His father, Michael Jones is a former professional football player, representing various teams in the CFL as a tight end. The youngest of four brothers, Marcus grew up with a competitive edge and fell in love with sport from a young age. Being coached in football by his father and older brothers, he quickly grew to love playing on defense, becoming a fan of making big hits and getting his hands on the opposing quarterback. Although he didn’t really possess the size required to play as a defensive lineman, his natural speed and ability to read the field made him stand out as a talented young linebacker going into high school. After enrolling at Fremont High, Marcus became a starter on the team quickly and received a scholarship to UC Berkeley, where he would become a part of the California Golden Bears team.
