Jumbo Edward (born April 9, 2036) is an American football defensive tackle for the Portland Pythons of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).
Early years
Jumbo Edward was born in Arlington Heights, IL. Where he lived there for his entire life. This is where Jumbo's passion for football grew. Growing up, Jumbo was a bigger child than the rest of his peers. He played heavyweight football in the pee wees. Eventually, once old enough to go to High School - the coach saw his talents and stuck him at Defense End. Even though initially, Edward would want to play running back. He was a stand out player since his sophomore year to his senior. Racking up sacks, tackles for losses and even an interception or two. Other players could not keep up with him, especially those pesky offensive lineman. A lot of scouts would come to his game to put in some scholarship offers. Some include Ohio State, Iowa, Illinois, Notre Dame and Rice. With all these offers, he eventually ended up accepting the Rice University offer. Jumbo wanted to move far and Texas is where he wanted to go.
College career
Rice University is a pretty competitive college, football wise. As a true freshman, Jumbo Edward did not see the field a lot. For the first time in his life, he was smaller than the other players. That offseason - Jumbo Edward worked on his body and the game of football. Eventually, the Defensive Coordinator, thought it would be a good idea to start him at Defensive Tackle. In his sophomore year, Jumbo Edward saw great improvements. He played majority of the snaps, and was averaging 2 tackle for loss, half a sack for each game. This helped solidify the defensive line for Rice. It made them a fierce unit. At Jumbo's junior year is where he really shined. As a defensive tackle, he managed to get fourteen tackle for losses, eight sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception. The speed he had off the balls was outstanding. It caught the eye of the DSFL. After the season ended. This is where he declared for the draft.

S40 Overview
The start of Jumbo Edward’s career begins with the Portland Pythons. He was drafted in the fourth round and was the first pick of the round by the Pythons. Edward was a great example of health and strength. He managed to play all 14 games and playoff games for the Pythons. Throughout the season he had moderate success in the DSFL.
S40 Notable Games
Season
Week 7: vs Norfolk Seawolves
Jumbo’s stats are noticeably missing against the Seawolves. As a team, Portland has recorded 6 sacks against them. This is notable because the game plan was to shut down Jumbo Edward. They did succeed but it cost them the game where the other Portland defenders could run free and get to the Quarterback.
Week 8: vs Minnesota Grey Ducks
Statistically, Jumbo Edward’s best game. He stood tall against a lost cause where he recorded 4 tackles and a sack. He had a good showing by it was not enough for the Portland Pythons to overcome.
Playoffs
Round 1: vs London Royals
The first professional playoff game for Jumbo. He stood out in the win where he recorded 3 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, and a forced fumble. It helped solidify Portland as a defensive juggernaut and they advance to the Ultimini.
Ultimini: vs Bondi Beach Bucs
First Ultimini appearance for Jumbo Edward. The big game, where Portland started out hot, jumping to a 21-3 lead in the first half. But as the team started to relax they ended up losing the game to Bondi Beach, 21-24. This was a rough loss on the defense including Edward. He only recorded 2 tackles in the game.
S41 Overview
Before the start of the 2056 Season of the DSFL, there was high hope and positivity for the Portland Pythons. This includes Jumbo Edward. Also, the ISFL draft happened before the season began. The stellar defense of the Pythons had a ton of high draft picks which consequently meant that most of the defense was getting called up to their team. It told that Jumbo Edward would be the most senior member of the defense. With the hopes being high, the Portland season started out rough and kept being rough. On the other hand, Jumbo Edward had a successful season. The team might be struggling but individually, Edward had his best season where he earned First Team Defense All-Pro team honors, recorded 11 sacks, and had 36 tackles.
S41 Notable Games
Season
Week 4: at Tijuana Luchadores
Defensive tackles do not get much action in the trenches in the DSFL. But in this game Jumbo Edward’s presence was felt. One of the most productive days was when he recorded six solo tackles, one tackle for a loss, and a sack. It was rough moving the ball against that defensive line so the Luchadores relied on the air game to plan him out. Unfortunately, the secondary is young and the Pythons lost 30-35.
Week 9: vs Kansas City Coyotes
A very solid win 30-17, against a team that would make it to the Ultimini. This game helped Jumbo Edward solidify his All-Pro team where he recorded four tackles, two sacks and a tackle for loss. Overall great defensive performance.
