Early years
Jag was born in Houston to a family that are fond of all types of sports. Many of his family members have participated in all types of sports ranging from track to ball sports from high school to college. Jag would also follow this path participating in football. He decided to become a running back because he had a successful tenure in middle school in track and wanted to be a runner in football as well. He also took inspiration from Texans offensive stars such as Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. Jag would constantly work on his technique and he beat a few district records along the way to becoming a star for his high school team. He decided to stay in-state for his collegiant career as he took up a receruitment offer from Texas Tech University in Lubbock for the Red Raiders while his brother would take up basketball at the same school as this was a place where a few of his family members have played.
College career
Jag would start his collegiant career as the backup running back as a true freshman where he would total 642 rushing yards and 94 receiving yards. He would see more snaps throughout his freshman year before earning the starting spot for his sophomore season with the Red Raiders as it was clear to the coaches that his talent and work ethic were top notch. In his sophomore season he would have 1,176 rushing yards and 198 receiving yards on the way to the Red Raiders finishing runner up in the Big 12 conference championship. However, Jag's junior year would be his best season yet. In his junior year, Jag would total 1,487 rushing yards and 295 receiving yards once again helping the Red Raiders to a runner up finish in the Big 12 conference championship. Jag's stellar production on the field would earn him Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, a spot on the All-Big 12 conference team, as well as the Doak Walker awards for top running back in college all as a junior.
