Early years
Not much is publicly known about Alex D., other than he was a big fan of the German Football League while growing up. People close to him have told the media that his family moved around the country very frequently, preventing him from finding a stable basis in beginning his football career. Regardless, teammates from his high school described him as a hard worker, and often stayed at the practice field until he had to be kicked out by groundskeepers.
College career
Despite there being a professional league in Germany, Alex couldn't find a college with a football team. Because of this, he stopped playing football for his first two years at HUoB. At the beginning of his third year, the college created a football team, where Alex was the first person to sign up. Like in high school, Alex often had to be removed from the training facilities because he would stay past training hours.
His college career yielded great results, as he went 51/56 in field goals (three of his misses being from 50+) and 66/70 in extra points.
In the middle of his first college season, Alex infamously kicked a 52 yard field goal attempt, which was short, but bounced off the helmet of an opposing player and back up between the uprights. The officiating crew was split on whether this was a good kick or not. Almost ten minutes went by until the officials declared it a good kick.
