Despite coming into the team late, he impressed the Portland coaching staff and media, especially in their Week 14 loss to Norfolk, in which he registered 6 pass deflections and 8 tackles, the latter being a single-game record that season for the Pythons.

As the DSFL draft approached, Portland was linked to Upshar, which sparked a controversy in local media circles, as some argued that the Oregon alum registered 8 tackles due to his lapses in coverage, as well as reports that Suggs’ recruitment by the Pythons was heavily influenced by his father, Suggs Upshar I, a former player. Both father and son, however, denied the claims, as Upshar II declared for the Season 35 DSFL draft.

Suggs Upshar II (born April 4, 2030) is an American football cornerback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Oregon (Oregon) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Born on May 4th, Suggs Upshar II was born into a family of sports stars, with his dad, Suggs Upshar I, being a former college All-American cornerback for the UCF Knights in the 2020's and a 1st Round pick in both the DSFL Draft and the ISFL Draft. His mother is also reported to have been a star player for the University of Oregon track field team, as her real identity has never been revealed to the public. Rumors suggest that Upshar is the result of a short-lived, yet highly publicized affair Upshar Sr. had with a track athlete from the Ducks, during his playing days at the Portland Pythons.

Upshar Jr. grew up most of his life in the state of Oregon, becoming State Champion in both Football and Basketball during his last two years of High School, being recognized as a Top 10 prospect in the state for Basketball and a Top 20 recruit for Football, including the 3rd best WR of his class. Despite being a better Basketball prospect overall, Suggs' passion for the sport and family tradition led him to choosing the sport despite better scholarship offers.

College career

Upshar's lack of D1 offers for football out of High School led him to choosing a risky path in College: committing to a Junior College. Suggs decided to play for the Snow College Badgers, in Ephraim, Utah, who played in the NJCAA, the National Junior College Athletics Association. In one year, playing as a WR, he totaled more than 1500 yards receiving, double digit receiving touchdows, and helped guide his team to a NJCAA National Championship.

A distinguished route runner in his one year in Utah for the Badgers, Upshar entered the transfer portal and immediately received multiple D1 scholarship offers, including one for the University of Oregon Ducks, which is where he would end up committing too. In Eugene, Suggs struggled to compete at WR during training camp, but still demonstrated an above average understanding of the game and was convinced by Defensive Coordenator Steve Silva to make the switch to cornerback, a position of need after major injuries in the 2049 offseason. In his new position, Suggs struggled the first couple of games, but soon got the jist of the position and got an interception in every one of Oregon's remaining 11 games, along with great play in general. The Ducks ended the season 10-3, which led to them participating and winning the Alamo Bowl, with Upshar getting a game-sealing interception at the end of the 4th quarter.

With DSFL interest looming after his sophomore season, Suggs Upshar II decided to forgo his college eligibility and declare for the 2050 Season 35 DSFL Draft.
