Early years
Growing up as a young child at the base of Mt. Vesuvius in Italy, Jimmy Nardello was used to a bit of a rural, rougher upbringing. Being born and raised on the footsteps of the legendary volcano, Jimmy spent much of his youth climbing the the rock formations left behind. This, coupled with a steady diet of pasta, made Jimmy quite the young athlete excelling in wrestling and rugby. However, it wasn't until high school when he saw his first NFL game and was immediately hooked. After that his only goal was to get to the states to play professional football. Since there are no teams in Italy, and he only could watch the games being aired starting at midnight, he struggled to understand the game at first. His Uncle is the person he has to thank for getting him hunderds of tapes, dvds, and files of vintage, and current NFL games. Jimmy studied these games, and then would try to teach his friends about this sport that nobody else understood like him.
College career
Jimmy attended the American University in Rome, which does not have an official football team. However, growing up an avid fan of the sport, he was able to convice a few other players to get some light hearted, two hand touch games going. This helped him hone in his game a bit while he dreamed of making it to the states and getting on a big league team. In his sophomore year of University, he met a teacher named Henry Rice. Mr. Rice was an American who had played football growing up with his cousin, Jerry. Henry and Jerry climbed the statboards and rankings through out their High School and College careers, until one fateful day when Henry got in a car accident and lost a leg, which immediately ended his dreams of playing in the big leagues. His cousin Jerry, went on to have an illustrious career. Henry, not being able to cope with not playing football again, went to Italy and became a teacher. After seeing the excitement and drive in young Jimmy's eyes, Henry decided to take Jimmy on to teach him all he knew about the game. If it had not been for Henry, Jimmy would not have had the experience or drive to make the trek to the US to compete for a roster position in the DSFL.
