Prime Sanders (born January 1, 1900) is an American football cornerback for the Kansas City Coyotes of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

"Deion “Prime” Sanders (born August 9, 2002) was born to Connie Sanders and Mims Sanders on a hot summer afternoon in Fort Meyer, Florida. Connie and her husband had an estranged relationship, however, and did not get along. His parents got a divorce when he was just two years old, leaving Prime to fend with his mother and her new husband Dave Knight. Little did Sanders know that Dave would prove to turn Sanders’ future upside-down. When Prime was just at the blossoming age of 2, Dave saw that Prime had what it took to be something special, as the head football coach at Fort Myers High School, Knight saw Prime was already running at 2 and decided to put a football in his hands ever since. Prime excelled at an early age. In Pop-Warner he had won Most Valuable Player in all his years, and he was the team captain in all of his elementary teams, never losing a game as the running back and corner back in all those years. “He was just so fast for his age! The other children couldn’t keep up with him” says Craig Hughes, Prime’s Pop-Warner football coach. Craig is the man who gave Prime his well used nickname. “One time he caught an interception and ran it back to the house, but he started doing a little dance before he waltzed into the end zone saying it’s prime time, and it just stuck forever after that.” says Hughes. When Prime attended Fort Myers Middle School he was already practicing with the high school team in 6th grade, his father was the coach after all. He dominated in middle school, and still had not lost a game! In 8th grade Prime was already a ranked prospect on ESPN. Prime attended high school at Fort Myers High School. He started on the varsity team at cornerback in his 9th grade year. That team went on to win the state championship undefeated as Prime had 6 interceptions that year. His sophomore and junior seasons saw the same success as Prime was now a nationally known 5 star prospect going into his senior year. Prime would only find struggle in his last game as a senior in the Florida State Championship against Florida High School. The teams were tied at 21-21 in the fourth quarter when the opposing quarterback threw a lob into Prime’s hands and he picked it off and ran it back for six to win the game. You could hear the crowd yell “Prime Time!” as he did his signature dance into the end zone with his 11th interception that year, a state record. After Prime posted a 4.21 40-yard dash on his prospect scouting day he shot up to become the number one ranked defensive back in the nation and was an All-American in three separate sports. We all know how good he is at football, but what you may not know is that his true talents may actually have lied in baseball, as Prime was actually selected in the 6th round of the MLB draft, but elected not to attend. No, Prime would elect to choose a different route, a route intended by his step father Dave Knight, a route of football. He elected to accept a scholarship to play football for Florida State University, and the rest was history.

College career

"Beginning in his freshman year, he started in the Seminoles' secondary under head coach Bobby Bowden. Bowden saw a lot in Prime in order for him to start this early, and this combined with Prime’s already over the top personality rubbed a lot of his teammates the wrong way. Sanders would get into many minor off the field issues with concerns of hazing over the course of his freshman career, but if you Prime now he will say he is cool with those guys and they look back at these and laugh every time. Sanders was a third-team All-American in 2020. He started all 11 games as the team went undefeated, and but Sanders would taste his first taste of defeat in a blowout in the Rose Bowl against Texas. Sanders also became a two-time consensus All-American cornerback in 2021 and 2022, intercepting 14 passes in his career, including three in bowl games, and managed to return one interception 100 yards for a touchdown, breaking Darion Sharpe’s interception return record by one yard. He won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2021. He was also a standout kick returner for Florida State, leading the nation in 2022 with his kick return average, and breaking the school's record for career punt return yards. Sanders made an interception with five seconds left to seal Florida State's 13–7 win over Auburn in the 2022 Sugar Bowl during the postseason. Based on those accolades, his No. 21 jersey at Florida State was retired in 2022. He finished his career with 126 punt returns for 1,429 yards and three touchdowns, as well as 14 interceptions, returning them for 287 yards and three scores. At the time of his graduation, Sanders' 14 interceptions was the second highest total in school history. Bowden would later state that Sanders was his ""measuring stick for athletic ability"". After his graduation Sanders announced he was indeed going to finally take his talents to the pros in the ISFL. First, however, he was going to take his talents to the DSFL where he was just picked up by the Kansas City Coyotes off waiver wire. "
