Travis Novak (born August 15, 2004) is an American football wide receiver who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Illinois and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

"Travis Novak was born in 2004 and raised in small-town Owatonna, Minnesota to parents George and Willa Novak. Travis is the eldest of three brothers. Novak played wide receiver for the Owatonna High School Huskies.

Novak spent most of his youth playing soccer, basketball and running track, and only began playing football upon reaching high school, after a coach noted his bursty speed and endurance on the soccer field. While at OHS, Novak's team made it to the state championship twice in his four years with the team, winning the title in his senior year. In an interview with the Owatonna Star after the game, Novak thanked his coaches for pushing him to play football, noting it was the best decision he had ever made.

During Novak's final season at OHS, he set the school's single-season record for receiving yards. Spurred by this achievement, Novak received a 4-star rating from PFF as a receiver prospect going into college."

College career

"In 2022, Novak committed to play for Northern Illinois Unversity. In one season as a true freshman for the Huskies, Novak started all 11 games played by the team. In this stretch, Novak averaged 6.2 catches for 88.7 yards per game, cementing himself as the group's top wide receiver.

Following the 2022 campaign with Northern Illinois, Novak officially entered the transfer portal, citing personal growth and an opportunity to go pro as factors driving his decision. Shortly after entering the portal, Novak transferred to play for Illinois in the Big Ten Conference. Upon reaching Illinois, Novak immediately made his presence known, completing an 88-yard touchdown catch on the first play of Illinois's season opener against Rutgers. Novak would finish the game with 152 yards and 2 touchdowns. Throughout the remainder of the season, Novak continued to make a sizeable impact, averaging 5.8 catches and 91.1 yards per game. Spurred on by such performances from himself and others on his team, Illinois made it to the Big Ten Championship game against Michigan, ultimately falling short 27-20.

After the conclusion of the season, Novak declared for the DSFL draft."
