Deacon Blues (born September 23, 2040) is an American football tight end for the Portland Pythons of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Blues was born in Brooklyn, New York to a single mother. His mother, a singer at a small blues club, claims his father is a famous athlete from the area, but she can't reveal the father's name due to having signed an NDA. Others claim she is making up this story and that Blues' real father is a bouncer employed at the club in which she worked. Either way, Deacon most certainly inherited both size and athleticism from his father, reaching his current height at the tender age of 14. His strong frame did not fill in until his college years, but his athleticism definitely shined from a young age. Blues was a star high school athlete in both Football and Wrestling, helping to revitalize the athletic program of a now revived Erasmus Hall. He found more success in football, being offered a scholarship to the Univerisity of Alabama in his junior year. Many believe Deacon would have been a better athlete had he not spend so much time in his youth following in the footsteps of his mother learning to love the blues. Deacon was actually offered a scholarship to The Aaron Copland School of Music in Queens, New York. However, he chose the football route in order to have a greater chance of providing for his mother.

College career

Blues was redshirted during his first year at the University of Alabama, taking time to learn the game at a higher level. Both he and his coaches felt that this was a better option compared to barely seeing the field as a freshman tight end at Alabama. Perhaps more importantly, he was turned over to the strength and conditioning coaches, who turned the relatively skinny young man into a behemoth of a man. In only one year, Blues had packed on an additional fourty pounds from the mark at which he left high school. During the three seasons in which Blues saw playing time at Bama, he started in every single game. He was a star blocker, if such a thing exists, helping to lead an Alabama rushing attack that carried the team to their championship victory in 2063. He would also see some action in the receiving game, but he realized quickly that his skill at blocking would help Alabama win the most games, and pushed his coaches to prioritize the run. Perhaps more importantly to Blues, he would graduate from the University of Alabama with two Bachelor's of Music, one in Music Theory and the other in Music Performance. After accomplishing this task, Blues would declare for the DSFL Draft.
